- Fredericksburg, July 1 - Mrs. Lydia R. Sothoron, mother of Dr. L. J. Sothoron, of King George Co., died suddenly a few days ago at her home at Rock Springs, Md., aged fifty-nine years. She had been married forty-two years, and is survived by her husband, four sons, and four daughters. (Washington Post :9, Reported 1905.07.01)

Lydia Rebecca Sothoron, a 59 year old married white female housewife, died at Forest Hill, Harford Co., MD on 24 June 1905. She was born to Horatio Canter & Elizabeth Reems Canter, all born in St. Mary’s Co. Informant was Rev. Levin Johnson Sothoron, her husband.

- Primary Cause of Death was Asthma of 3 years’ duration, with Immediate Cause being Heart failure of ½ hour duration. Certifying Physician was F. P. Sampson of Forest Hill, Md. (Certificate of Death)
